I am writing in support of the work of Beshoy Farag of Hades Construction. I am an architect and developer with 20 years of experience, practicing in California and New York with built projects in the US and internationally. My primary focus over the past ten years has been in Los Angeles on tenant improvement and ground up retail, restaurant, and residential projects. Over the past two years I’ve had the chance to work closely with Beshoy on several projects. Throughout that time, I have been consistently impressed with his ability to meet and exceed expectations and would place him among the very best contractors and subcontractors that I’ve worked with.
The first project that I worked on with Beshoy was a large interior miniature golf course in an old multi-story unreinforced masonry building requiring seismic upgrade in downtown Los Angeles. A project with exceptionally difficult non-conforming conditions, the client and I brought in Beshoy, then with Cal Asia Construction, for preconstruction and project management services. I was impressed immediately with his professional approach to the
project, his ability to break the complexity of the project into manageable phases. For him there were no problems, only solutions waiting to be executed. He was a ready contributor to the large design team and provided the needed costing and pre-construction services. Unfortunately, the project did not move past pre-design as lease negotiations with the landlord broke down.
The second project was a 3000sf restaurant tenant improvement for Rock House Sliders, currently open and operating in Hollywood. Beshoy, at Cal-Asia, won the project through a competitive bid process. Beshoy, as project
manager, was diligent, thorough and professional in the execution of the cost-plus contract. Each bid package was competitively bid to multiple union subcontractors, fully qualified and delivered in a timely manner that never impeded construction progress, something that I have rarely seen from a contractor. The quality of the buildout was excellent, timely and per the construction drawings.
Beshoy knows how to bring an excellent team together and more importantly, how to lead that team. I am sure to
recommend to all my clients to put him on the bid list.
